Hi Dale – What a wonderful adventure with a terrific group of people. I’ll be praying for you and the group throughout your journey. I pray that your gifts will be used to further God’s kingdom, and that you are blessed by your work. Oh, and keep an eye on Lynn McInnis – she’s trouble.

    Hi Dale,
I am so bummed that I am not with you but I know that you will build an amazing home even without my help! LOL! Have a great time sharing this with your daughter. Stay healthy and have fun!

DALE!!! I’m so excited to see you on this trip!! I sure wish I could be back to experience it all over again. Someday…right? :) Ella’s only 14 months, so it may be a little while yet! You will be in my thoughts and prayers! We had such a great small group the year we went together — I still remember our nightly devos; those were some good talks!!! I hope that your group is great this year as well. Enjoy the kiddos! Make sure your house goes up nice and square! I’ll check in on you guys this week. Take care, and may God bless your time in Guate!

    Hi Dale,
We are praying for you and the entire group continually. We were thrilled to hear the travel down and Customs went so well. I am sure that God has great plans for the Ivanrest gang this week. Take good care of my Madi Paige!
    God Bless, Dawn

    Hey Dad!
I hope things are going well down there. Im praying that it stays dry and that nobody gets sick this week. I remember when we were down there we played with the kids and we didnt know much spanish which made it hard to teach them games. We taught them ‘duck duck goose’ but we didnt know those words in spanish. Although, we did know the words for dog and cat. So we taught them ‘cat cat dog.’ So I hope you have better luck with the spanish part than we did. I guess you do have Becky so that will help. Have fun and hopefully you get some sleep!

    Hey everyone,
we are having a wonderful time, thanks for all of the comments/support. Continue to keep us in your prayers, especially for weather and our health, so far no one has gotten sick. Lori, pass this on to my mother sometime this week.

Dale, I hope stucco went well! I also hope things are going well with the young team!!! Everytime I write on your wall I think of when you were outside the van trying to help Juan Pablo back up and were trying to tell him he had a big rock behind him and you yelled, “Juan, Rocko big!!!” That was hilarious. I don’t know if you remember it but it made me laugh and Juan too! Enjoy and praying for you!!!

  13. Dale Vander Vennen says:

Things went very well today, had no rain. The building went well, finishing porches and doing stucco. We are working well together as a team and have been having a great time. Thanks Barb for praying for our time, long time no see, and its hard to keep Lynn under control. Lori, take care of things at home (check on Becky’s lawn, see if needs watering)

  14. Lori VanderVennen says:

    Dale,
Glad to hear things are going well. Things are going well here also. I called your mom today she was glad to hear you and Becky got there without any problems. I checked Becky’s house today to see if there were any flooding problems. We got 4 inches of rain Tuesday night. Her yard was fine. Rob’s house didn’t fair so well. Hope the rain holds out. Keeping you and the rest of the team in my prayers.
    Love, Lori

  15. Jason Door says:

Dale! I hope the dedications were great today and that the spirit was felt! I am so excited for you guys for the villages! God works in crazy ways there and I am jealous that you get to experience that with such a new team! Praying for you Dale!

  16. Lori VanderVennen says:

    Hello Dear,
Hope that the dedications went well today. Are you taking care of Becky and Madi, or are they taking care of you? Things are well here. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
    Love, Lori

  17. Dale Vander Vennen says:

All went well today, I was part of the roofing crew for all the houses, and now am very sore. I felt a little sick this afternoon but am feeling much better tonight. It was an emotional day dedicating the houses to the families, the Spirit was definitely felt today. Continue to keep us in your prayers. Lori, glad to hear you talked to my mom and things are going well at home.

  19. Randy Door says:

    Dale,
The homes look great. Dedicating the homes was a blessing to both you and the teams as well as the Guatemalan families. You probably had all you could do to keep Kyle and Graham in line. Cadet memories? LOL. May the Lord continue to watch over you as you serve the people of Guatemala. Psalm 46:10
    Randy D.

  20. Kristy van wyhe says:

    Good morning Dale,
The homes look beautiful! I am so glad that you were able to go again!! Kevin was so glad that he would have another guy with him and Al, that knew what to expect. It made things a bit easier for him. Thank you for that. Today I am praying for safe travel. Keep Psalm 121:8 in the forefront of your heart today, “the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

  21. Shelley Postema says:

    Dale,
This is Ashtyn’s mom – I have been praying for the team that she was on all week, but now that I know who is on her team I will be praying for you each by name! I am so thankful for your leadership that I’m sure you provided in the house building! I’m sure you were a huge help! God’s richest blessings are being poured out on all of you and I will pray that you will continue to be blessed each minute! Thanks again for all that you are doing this week!

  22. Rob VanderVennen says:

    Hey Dad,

Hope everything is going well in Guatemala. Happy Father’s day tomorrow. Too bad you won’t be home to spend it with us but we will celebrate when you get home. I’ve been taking care of mom and letting her take me out to dinner all week. My basement flooded again so I think it’s time to regrade to lawn. Stay safe and I’ll keep you in my prayers.

    Rob

  23. Jodi Berens says:

to come home, (you know how she doesn’t like any of her kids away).

    Hi Dale,

“Happy Father’s Day” from your in-laws. We missed you at our get together today but know you are doing “the Lord’s work” down there in Quatemala!. Glad you are there to keep an eye on those precious grand daughters of ours. I’m sure you are a big help when it comes to construction work, you can fix or do most anything. You and the whole team are in our thoughts and prayers and pray for a safe return trip home.
    Love, Mom & Dad Postma

Have to write quickly, things are going amazing well. My bunk mates officially kicked me out of my room, I sound like 5 bears snoring. Continue to pray for us in the next couple days. No time for more, will write later

  27. Lori VanderVennen says:

Glad to hear that you made it home safely last night. I told you before you left I felt sorry for whoever ended up in the bunk above you. Now maybe you will believe me when I say you snore bad. Enjoy your day. Praying for safe travel tomorrow.
    Love, Lori
